My experience as a blogger

My experience with the blog has been a disaster. Sincerely, I believe that the idea of doing a blog and write about different topics is very good but try to learn English using this method requires extra time that it’s difficult to get with all the academic load. This situacion, has provoked my collapse while  Im writing this last entry. But always is good too see things in a positive way. From this perspective, this blog has made me think about different topics: pets, technology, music, movies, etc.. I was surprised to realize that I dont have much things that can be called "favorite". For example, I like music but not a particular style, same thing happened with technology and even more with movies. In that sense, being a blogger has helped me to discover lots of things about myself that i didn’t know..I love writing, but writing in English is definitely not my strength. I acctually think that it's an activity that I will not repeat (unless circumstances force me)I'll take my last words to finish this damn blog, to show one of my poems that has been well received at theUniversity. With that I say goodbye, hopefuly for ever.

My Class
I am the one who runs in the streets
I am the one who yells, the one who picks up the
stone
And the one that without helmet, and without shield
dodges the bullets of the poverty…
the days 30th chase me
And I hide as a child in the trees
Perhaps a little higher up
I manage to save myself.
They says that I am of middle class,
And I went to many classes
I say that they has no class to say who am I,
Where do I belong and where do I go.
They think that I am a resentful
Because I don't buy their dreams of the North.
I prefer to use ripped clothes
But it's mine, and it has smell of fight,
Of the working class, of people, of subversion…
They believe that I wanted to see the destruction
They believe that I dream of a bygone time
And I say to them, the bombardment did not finish
Now, dress up of invisible, it tortures us.
I walk across the streets lifting my flag
Because I have engraved in my soul my slogan
Our hands will be returned, they will be joined
again,
But now they will be harsher, blacker, stronger.
Until we remove from they our rights without mercy.
I am the one who runs in the streets
I am the one who yells, the one who picks up the
stone
And the one that without helmet, and without shield
Raises up the war.

Veena Das

Veena Das is an anthropologist who works on the topic of violence, I do not know much about it but I read some of her work and the conclusions she comes up with I think are very important when working on the issue of violence in social anthropology. She believes that social scientists have been afraid to work about the issue of violence because we do not want to make "science" out of people's emotions, not knowing how important it is for victims of violence that take them in mind, she sees the need for these people to speak up and be heard, even for us social scientists.
One of her books is entitled "Subjects of pain, dignity agents" Veena Das here covers a vast and complex path traversed by a constant concern for human dignity, even in the most difficult environments, violent and degraded... Her work transcends the local scene in India and is proposed as a fundamental rethinking of the corrosive effects of violence and the need to advance and enable the repair to restore areas of social coexistence.

Poetic essay ...

I would like to take advantage that this is a free topic assignment to delight my dear readers (although probably Rodrigo, my English teacher, is my only reader) with some fragments of a poetic essay titled “Overcome the lost”.

It can’t be; the overwhelming pain since the first moment in which the reason of “it’s no longer there” crosses your mind, however, pain has stages, and it goes placing them in your mind, your body, and your
soul.

First we acknowledge the pain of doubt, the doubt of the lost, and this is also the first loss, of a number of vital signs of where the balance of life used to live. Tend to build stairs and paths, where we know we can cross every day, they are the pillars of our life, the building of certainties, and these are unbreakable. Sometimes it doesn’t. An unexplained phenomenon takes certainty, giving place to a shadowing doubt, that denies something of life, stealing something so yours as the air, your pillar, your path, your stair, that one that lets you cross the sad valleys without touching the ground. Certainty and doubt play in every corner of the room and sometimes they get together to build world wars in your mind, where everyone ends injured, and the one who wins never reaches what he had before.

The next stage is the reason of the meaningless past, now you know where “the lost object” is, and the pain is that it won’t come back…
“To get over the lost” is as changeable as the perceptions of people in front of an abstract painting, what is to overcome; surely every being should be able to explain. I do not know if you can “overcome”, “get over it”, but surely one can keep on living after having lost.

Section of movies ...

Honestly I don’t have a favorite movie but are so many that like to me. The most famous are “Titanic”, “Life is Beautiful”, “Forrest Gump” and “The Pianist”. When I choose movies I really don’t have specific topics. Perhaps there are movies that are not so good but this came just in the  right moment so they became very importants to me, for example, "before the end of the day", "50 First Dates", "PS: I Love you" or " Never Let Me Go".
There are two films that would bail out of the many that I like becouse they have made a space in my life, one of them is "My Life in Pink" which is about a child who assumes that he would like to be a girl, how exposed the plot made me mourn several minutes because I think that before seeing the film I had not challenged enough the issue of homosexuals, was a strong film for me.
The other film are "Violeta went to heaven" which chronicles the life of a well-known Chilean artist Violeta Parra. I admire the great courage of Violeta Parra, a woman who brought the Chilean art  around the world.
Finally, in this part of the Blog I like to put in the table the film "Moulin Rouge", this movie present the Tango of Roxanne,a part that fascinates me because of its enormous power,

My favorite webpages.

I usually visit traditional Internet pages, for example, youtube and facebook, I´m not a real surfer!
http://picasa.google.cl/ is a page that opens when I enter the google browser, here I can organize, edit, and share my photos.
Picasa 3.9 is the new application from Google, some of the things you can do are:
  •       Share to your Google+ circles .  You can share directly to  the circles you`ve created in Google+. They'll see your photos and videos. People that don´t use Google+ aren´t left out. They'll get an email to view your album, and they don´t have to join to do so.
  •           New photo editing effects . Here you can entertain using different effects for pictures.
  •         Side by side editing. Compare two different photos side by side. Or compare the original and edited versions versions of the same photo simultaneously as you apply edits in Picasa.
With this program I created different photo montages using photos of my paintings, here I give you an example:

This are the photos

And here the result!

Verse: write it down before you forget it...

I think that the poetry are people dont restrictions on the use of your imagination.I think its is very important, you are perfectly at liberty to do what you like in the word of the handwriting . I very like writing poems, I am part of the world of nevermore! (well, figuratively speaking)

The poems is for me the best form for express my feeling. I am very sentimental, and very sensitive to events occurring around me, is is for this reason that the poetry is part of my life.

I want to you an invitation to dream of a pencil in hand and dare to translate dreams into the language of the verses.

Share with you some extract of my poems, I hope you like!

"When a dream is alive
there is a body and a heart that beats
thousand of thoughts, a thousand of rhymes sung two eyes, one hand raised
there is you and me where to find us".

"We live to work
I breathe, I eat and work
Sometimes i work and dont eat
Sometimes I work, work, and work
Exhausted even to breathe
I have tired my hands
On my back and my soul
But I can not complain
I have a roof and I have a bread
Children who no longer see And A wife to forget ... "
(remnants of an exploded)

"Come to carpet the steps we follow
Give me the certain of an honest answer
It is not enough evidence quiet in the window
With his white face and stare.
I admit I do not understand the singing of this hour
After reaching the highest notes
This is the anguish that burns in my chest
The unspeakable sadness that bathes me".

my photomontage

This picture is a photomontage of myself with one of my paintings, I like it a lot! I think that is able to capture a full portrait of me, above all as another part of the work

I like the abstract art and see how every person gives the painting their own interpretation, however there are some that look it and their opinion isn’t enough so they ask me what I see in the painting, what was I feeling and I refuse to give them an answer because “Art interprets itself” or at least mine do. I want to give to the people the possibility to think openly about what they see and tell it with conviction; I invite them to imagine, to be free of to empower the painting with a name and a meaning as valuable as I could gave it as author.

In a world in which everything is bottled-up, fast-cooked and digested even faster, I invite the people to stop and imagine… We have to seize that this is still free for now.

Missi

My favorite pet is the cat. I have a very precious and nice cat, it´s name is Missifuz, but we call her Missi. Her fur is black and white but she isn’t “colocolina”, or maybe it is and we haven’t noticed (Just kidding).
Missi is a hunter cat, she climb up to the top of the trees and from there she hunts pigeons. At first, when we found feathers, blood and bird heads, we had to fight against her nature and try to civilize her (It din’t worked! Hahaha). Nevertheless I love my hunter cat!!
Missi is very social, she goes out around the neighborhood all day and comes back in the night to sleep, but not always at home; when Missi notice that I’m at home she talks with me (Catlike).
Sincerely I believe that people should have animals as their friends, is a fascinating experience.
Greetings to all cat lovers!

My favorite technology

The technology is a tool wich is with us all time. But there is a essential thing for me that I never leave at home: my MP4. I bought it in the last summer because the previous device was broken in a really unlucky incident for a person music-dependent who needs  listen to music everyday.
This new small device has changed my life. I can forget everything, except my plastic friend.
That's happend because I love music and I can't survive without a inspiring song. Especially, in the morning when I'm sleepy. In this case,  the music is really important to wake up, open the eyes and get energies to stand the long day.
Also, the Mp4 has multiple virtues. Its size is excellent to put it on your pocket and enjoy for hours. As well you can use it to academic aplication. For example to record classes or save works. But the better, it's that nobody wants stole it because my Mp4 doesn't have camera, touch screen or nothing else.

MY FAVORITE SONGS’ REPERTOIRE

Sincerely, I don’t have a favorite music band, but I like music a lot!
I listen to different kinds of music. I think that will be easier to write down the name of the songs I like the most.
I’d start with “You’ll see” (Madonna) that is my favorite although she’s not my big star artist this song touches my heart.
Another is “Nevermore” (Queen) this songs speaks about the abandonment of a lover, is very sad. The fragment I like the most is:
"Can't you see
Listen to the breeze
Whisper to me please
Don't send me to the path of nevermore

Even the valley's below
Where the rays of the sun
Were so warm and tender
Now haven't anything to grow
Can't you see?"

Another song I like very much is “Chiquitita” (ABBA) this song is very important for me because my best friend (today very far away from me) always sang it.
My repertoire of favorite songs is very long! But obviously I can’t write down all the titles that marked an important moment on my life.

Myself

Hi! My name’s Romy. I was born in Santiago, Chile. I’m twenty years old. I’m studying Social Anthropology in the “Universidad de Chile”. I live with my family which consists on five members: my father Remberto, my mother Ana, my older brother Rodrigo, my younger sister Lucia and Myself (obviously).
I like to do everything! I play football; I read and write poems of different topics: social, romantic, etc. Also I like a lot the abstract art, I like ole painting; when people ask me: -“What it is?” I answer: -“What do yo see?” Some people begin to say a lot about my paintings, they likely relate my paint with different essences of their lives.
